The building is the winner of the Vietnam Metropolitan Tower Competition in 1995. The building structure consists of a 15 metre deep diaphragm wall with a two metre thick raft slab, conventional reinforced concrete slabs for the basement to level one, and combination post tensioned beam and reinforced concrete slabs for levels two to 16. The building's finishes are of the highest quality. Externally there is polished granite cladding up to the level four podium and rotunda, with powder-coated aluminium and green-tinted laminated glass windows. Inside, polished marble and granite line the rotunda, main entry and lift lobbies.
